We offer a variety of free or low-cost services designed to support families across Carver County, Minnesota:

Benefits Navigation

The Carver County Family Resource Center is here to make it easier to find and apply for programs that support your family. Our friendly staff will get to know your situation and help figure out what kinds of support might be available—like food programs, health insurance, child care assistance, or housing help. They can explain how things work, help fill out forms, and connect you with other services so you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. This service is provided by Mi CASA, CRC, Carver County staff, and other community partners.

Food Access

Our team can connect you with local food shelves and programs like SNAP or WIC. We can also share information about farmers’ markets, community meals, and other local resources, making it easier to keep good food on the table.

Housing Resources

Housing resource information for individuals experiencing homelessness and those worried about losing their housing. We help connect people to common resources, including emergency rental assistance, housing search tools, homeless assessments, and shelter program information.

Workforce Development

Finding the right job or career path can open new doors for you and your family. We can share information about job training, career coaching, resume support, and local employers who are hiring. We can also connect you with education programs and other resources to support your career goals and help your family move forward.

Health Care Access

Getting the right health care can feel complicated, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. Our team can share information about health insurance options, clinics, and programs that offer free or low-cost care. We can also help you find a doctor, understand your coverage, and connect with services that support your family’s health and well-being.

Parenting Education & Support

Learn positive parenting strategies, connect with other caregivers, and find resources to support your child’s growth.

Mental Health Support & Referrals

Talk with professionals who can help you access counseling, crisis support, or ongoing care.

Child Development Opportunities

Participate in programs and activities that help your children learn, play, and thrive.

When to Access Services

Many services are available on a drop-in basis, while some programs and specialists are on-site during scheduled times throughout the week.

Carver County Departments Providing Services

CASH/SNAP/Basic Needs Assistance

Individuals and families can get help applying for programs like SNAP (food assistance), cash assistance, emergency assistance, and emergency housing. These services help people meet basic needs during times of crisis—such as eviction, utility shutoffs, or homelessness. FRC staff can guide visitors through eligibility, applications, and referrals. Healthcare Assistance

Support for applying to Minnesota’s Medical Assistance (MA), covering doctor visits, prescriptions, and hospital stays. Staff can help families navigate eligibility and applications. Workforce Assistance
