FRC Advisory Committee

Family Resource Center Advisory Committee

The Carver County Family Resource Center (FRC) Advisory Committee exists to provide strategic guidance, connection, and community-informed support to ensure the FRC fulfills its mission. The Advisory Committee offers insight, partnership, and accountability, but does not serve as a governing body and does not hold decision-making authority over day-to-day operations.

Scope of Responsibilities

The Advisory Committee provides high-level support aligned with the vision, mission, and goals of Carver County, Carver County Health and Human Services (CCHHS), and ultimately the FRC. Responsibilities include:

  1. Offering guidance to ensure alignment with Carver County, CCHHS, and the FRC’s mission, goals, and community priorities.
  2. Strengthening community /county partnerships and cross-sector collaboration.
  3. Reviewing progress toward strategic priorities and offering recommendations.
  4. Advising on community needs, gaps, emerging issues, and opportunities.
  5. Supporting sustainability planning and resource development (non-fundraising unless needed).
  6. Encouraging accountability to community and County standards, equitable service delivery, and inclusive practices.
  7. Supporting connections between county/state systems, nonprofit partners, businesses, for-profit partners, families, and community members.

Guiding Principles

The Advisory Committee operates according to the following principles:

  1. Collaboration: Working across sectors to support families and communities.
  2. Community Belonging: Ensuring culturally responsive and accessible services.
  3. Transparency: Sharing information openly across partners.
  4. Community Voice: Centering lived experience and community-informed solutions.
  5. Accountability: Upholding the integrity of the FRC mission.
